Let the Children Not Be Hindered

Thanks to you, the Pampa Mercado project is fully funded!

From Bright Hope: “Just wanted to let you know that we received the check you sent for $5,000! Praise the Lord! THANK YOU! … I will send this information along and see how soon we can get this floor taken care of!”

It is difficult to comprehend from this corner of the world what life is like in Pampa Mercado and just how much this project will affect this little community in Peru. The people of Pampa Mercado were forced to move from their original home to escape the terrorists who murdered their leaders. In their new home, they are subsistence farmers and gatherers — they support themselves by gathering whatever food they can find for their own consumption. Most of the people there do not read or write, making education for the children there essential. Before this school was built in Pampa Mercado, the children had to walk two hours away to attend the nearest school. Many were simply unable to attend. A local school offers children not only the opportunity to learn how to read and write, but also the opportunity to read the Bible and learn about God’s love for them. Through this school, through these children, an entire community will be changed.

Thank you for sharing the love of God that transforms lives. For caring enough about these children to provide a clean, dry place for them to learn and be loved. For demonstrating to this community how to value their children as they ought. For furthering God’s work in this place. Thank you.

“But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’” Luke 18:16
